2nd Idescat Meeting with Analysts and Users
Idescat, together with the Centre for Demographic Studies, is organising the second meeting with analysts and users on 1 and 2 June 2026 at the Cotxeres Hall of Palau Robert in Barcelona, under the title “Seminar on Results, Analysis and Reflections on the Survey on the Use of Time 2024”.
This Meeting aims to provide a deeper understanding of the results of the Survey through the contributions and reflections of advanced users and experts, thereby complementing the initial dissemination carried out by Idescat.
The Survey on the Use of Time analyses how the population allocates its time, and measures aspects such as employment and unpaid work, leisure, household and care tasks, help between households, and the use of the internet or other electronic devices. The 2024 edition of the Survey, as in previous editions, follows Eurostat methodological standards, thus ensuring the national and international comparability of its results.
The data from this Survey are highly valuable for different fields of analysis, such as demography, sociology or household economics, and are especially useful for the design and evaluation of public policies, particularly in areas such as gender equality or the value of unpaid work.
The Seminar will focus on analysing the most prominent results of the Survey on the Use of Time 2024 from different perspectives: conceptual, territorial, temporal and also intersectional. In this regard, the various sessions will address topics such as the health of children, adolescents and older people, living conditions, time for rest, physical activity, and household and care tasks.
