Industrial Price Index. 05/2026

The industrial products price index (base 2021=100), which does not include energy, increased by 3.1% in year-over-year terms in Catalonia in May 2026.

During the same period the Industrial Price Index (which includes energy) increased by 7.2% compared with the same month of the previous year. By large industrial sectors, energy increased by 24.4%, intermediate goods by 7.9% and capital goods by 2.4%; on the other hand, prices of consumer goods decreased by 0.7%.

Moreover, by industrial divisions, the most significant increases in prices were registered in chemical industries (15.0%) and in the metallurgy, manufacture of basic iron, steel and ferroalloy products (13.9%). On the other hand, the highest price decreases were registered in industries of food products (−2.0%) and in the manufacture of other transport equipment (−0.7%).
