Statistics on Foreign Tourism Expenditure. 05/2026

The total expenditure made by foreign tourists whose main destination was Catalonia stood at 2,587 million euros in May 2026, which represents an increase of 13.1% compared to the same period of the previous year.

By country of habitual residence, the United States, France and the United Kingdom stood out with a total expenditure of 400, 345 and 263 million euros, a figure that represented a year-over-year variation of 23.6%, 39.1% and 1.1%, respectively.

The average daily expenditure per person was 239 euros, which represented a year-over-year decrease of 12.0%. The main expenditure items correspond to expenditure on international transport that is not included in the tourist package (666 million euros) and expenditure on accommodation (517 million euros).
