Life Expectancy Indicators and Standardised Death Rate. Standardised Death Rate. 2013-2017
Idescat is publishing the Standardised Death Rate (SDR) by age corresponding to the 2013-2017 period. The SDR in Catalonia totalled 821 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants in the above period, a figure slightly lower than those of Spain (872) and the European Union (1,036).
With regard to the areas of the territorial Plan, L'Alt Pirineu i Aran (776) and the Metropolitan Area (809) recorded SDRs lower than the average for Catalonia; in contrast, the SDR was higher in the areas of the Girona Counties (835), Ponent (853), El Penedès (853) and El Camp de Tarragona (858). In the other areas (Terres de l’Ebre and the Central Counties) the standardised death rate did not differ significantly from the average for Catalonia.
