The number of trips to Catalonia by residents of the rest of Spain increased 121.3% year-over-year in the second quarter of 2022, which meant a total of 1.5 million trips, 5.8 million overnight stays, an average stay of 3.9 nights, and an expenditure of 638 million euros. The Easter effect should be taken into account, as this year it was in April, while in 2021 it was at the end of March and the beginning of April.

The expenditure on trips to Catalonia of residents in the rest of Spain in the second quarter of 2022 was 436 euros per person, a figure that represents an increase of 27.6% above the second quarter of 2021, the equivalent to a daily expenditure of 111 euros with a 30.8% increase.

The number of a day trips to Catalonia of residents in the rest of Spain totalled 237.4 thousand in the second quarter of 2022, with an increase of 80.3% in comparison to the same quarter of the previous year.
