Industrial Production Index. 11/2022

The Industrial Production Index adjusted by working days decreased by 2.8% year-over-year in Catalonia in November 2022. By large industrial sectors, energy decreased by 20.9% and intermediate goods by 4.9%, while capital goods increased by 3.5% and consumer goods by 0.5%.

In the same period, the Industrial Products Index (which does not include energy and is not adjusted by working days) decreased by 0.7% compared with the same month the previous year and the Industrial Production Index (which includes energy) decreased by 2.8% year-over-year. By large industrial sectors, energy decreased by 21.2% and intermediate goods by 4.9%, while capital goods increased by 3.6% and consumer goods by 0.5%.

Moreover, by industrial divisions the most significant decreases were registered in textile, clothing, leather and footwear industries (−18.0%), other manufacturing industries (−11.4%) and paper, graphic arts and recorded media industries (−11.3%). By contrast, manufacture of pharmaceutical products (5.8%) and manufacture of machinery and mechanical equipment (4.6%) increased.
