Industrial Price Index. 12/2022 and year 2022. Provisional data
The industrial products price index (which does not include energy) increased by 9.6% in year-over-year terms in Catalonia in December 2022.
During the same period the Industrial Price Index (which includes energy) rose by 14.3% compared with the same month of the previous year. By large industrial sectors, energy prices increased by 33.8%, consumer goods by 12.2%, intermediate goods by 9.1% and capital goods by 4.9%.
Moreover, by industrial divisions, the most significant increases in prices were registered in industries of paper products (20.8%) and industries of food products (17.5%). By contrast, prices decreased in manufacture of other transport equipment (−2.1%) and metallurgy and manufacture of basic iron, steel and ferroalloy products (−0.9%).
In 2022, industrial products price index (which does not include energy), in annual average terms, increased by 12.5% in comparison with the previous year, according to provisional data.
The Industrial Price Index (which includes energy), in annual average terms, increased by 24.6% compared with 2021. By large industrial sectors, the prices of all types of goods showed increases: energy by 77.5%, intermediate goods by 18.5%, consumer goods by 10.2% and capital goods by 5.1%. By sections and divisions of the CCAE-2009, the rise in prices for industries of paper products (23.2%) and those for the chemical industries (20.6%) stood out.
