Retail Trade Index. 01/2023

The General Retail Trade Index (ICD) without service stations, at current prices, increased by 14.5% year-over-year in Catalonia in January 2023. By product type, food increased by 13.7% and the rest of products by 15.0%. Within the latter type, personal equipment increased by 25.2% compared with the same month in the previous year, household equipment increased by 11.9% and the other goods by 10.8%. During the same period, the General Retail Trade Index with service stations, at current prices, increased by 14.1% compared to one year ago.

At constant prices (i.e. eliminating the effect of prices) the retail trade index without service stations increased by 7.7% year-over-year.
