Statistics on Foreign Tourism Expenditure. 08/2024

The total expenditure made by foreign tourists whose main destination was Catalonia stood at 3,057 million euros in August 2024, which represents an increase of 8.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.

By country of habitual residence, France, the United Kingdom and the United States stood out with a total expenditure of 588, 372 and 317 million euros, a figure that represented a year-over-year variation of 1.2%, −0.5% and 65.7%, respectively.

The average daily expenditure per person was 213 euros, which represented a year-over-year increase of 6.6%. The main expenditure items correspond to expenditure on accommodation (769 million euros) and to expenditure on international transport that is not included in the tourist package (651 million euros).
